God’s Word talks about being saved a lot. But what is the meaning of Salvation in the Bible? In this short devotional, we’ll read the Best Bible Verses about Salvation and discover how this one little word changes us forever.
What is Salvation According to the Bible?
We all want to go to heaven.
There’s just one problem.
We don’t deserve it.
I know, the world tells us if we’re a good person and do all the right things we’re a shoo-in where heaven is concerned. But the truth is, being a good person doesn’t have anything to do with it.
And that’s where salvation comes into play.
It is the most fundamental belief of Christianity.
We believe that even though we might be a good person, we’re still a sinner. That we will never be able to erase sin from our lives on our own. And that we need a Savior to take away our sin.
At its core, salvation is about God’s love for us, sinful people.
Because of His great love, God sent His only Son to pay the price for our sin. God’s Son, Jesus, willing came to earth, lived the perfect life we never could, died on the cross in our place, and rose again on the third day, guaranteeing our ticket to heaven.
But there’s one caveat you must understand.
Jesus is the one and only way to get to heaven.
It’s His work on the cross that makes the path clear. And it’s God’s grace that sets us free from sin and shame and allows us to spend eternity in heaven with Him.

Sinners Prayer in the Bible
The Salvation prayer has four parts.
First, admit that you are a sinner.
Second, acknowledge that Jesus is to Son of God and died on the cross in your place.
Third, Put your trust and faith in Him.
Fourth, ask Jesus to come into your life and heart to save you.
A prayer to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is personal. No one can tell you exactly what to say. Just open your heart and let the words flow. God is listening and will honor your prayer for salvation.
Here’s a great example of the sinner’s prayer from Crosswalk.com to help you get started…
Lord, I admit I am a sinner. I need and want Your forgiveness. I accept Your death as the penalty for my sin, and recognize that Your mercy and grace is a gift You offer to me because of Your great love, not based on anything I have done. Cleanse me and make me Your child. By faith I receive You into my heart as the Son of God and as Savior and Lord of my life. From now on, help me live for You, with You in control.
In Your precious name, Amen
As you can see there are a lot of great scriptures about the salvation meaning in the Word of God! Each one will give you the strength to get through the hard times and inspire you for the new life you have in knowing Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior.
May God bless you greatly as you follow Him!
