Powerful Bible Verses about Jesus Divinity

Jesus is more than a nice guy who did something amazing for us. He is the Son of God, the Living Savior, and a part of the Trinity. As such, He is divine in nature.

Thankfully, for us, He laid down this great honor and came to earth as a humble servant. But His divine nature is unchanged. Now, He is seated at the right hand of God, the place of honor, and He reigns supremely over all creation.

This short list of Bible verses about Jesus’ divinity tell us about the power and strength He holds.

Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.

Hebrews 1:1-4 NKJV

looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:2 ESV

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.

Philippians 2:5-7 NKJV

Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

Hebrews 2:17 NKJV

When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.

Matthew 3:16 NKJV

But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, and said, “Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!”

The Birth of Jesus in the Bible

In these next scriptures, we see the Christmas story unfold. Even outside of the holiday season, it’s wonderful to read about the birth of Jesus.

Because without this moment in history, there wouldn’t be Jesus’ death and resurrection. And without them, we wouldn’t have the blessing of forgiveness and life after death in heaven.

Personally, I love the Old Testament verses about Jesus. It’s amazing to see the promise of the Messiah become reality within the Christmas story.

So, let’s celebrate by reading these Bible verses about Jesus’ birth.

Matthew 1:20 NKJV

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
