Favorite Bible Verse about Faith

The substance of our faith keeps us going in hard times.

We may not be able to see faith with our eyes, but just because we can’t see it doesn’t mean it isn’t real.

We believe in gravity, yet we can’t see it. But we know that gravity is real and exists because we feel it and experience it for ourselves.

Likewise, we know our faith in Jesus is real because we feel it in our hearts and experience it in our daily lives.

This is the substance of our faith and the hope that is within us. It is the reality that we have Jesus, and He has us. If we truly believe in Jesus, then we have the assurance of our faith because we “see” it in our lives.

These two verses speak directly to this kind of “blind faith”. They are the biblical definition of faith and show us what having faith in difficult times looks like.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

                                               Hebrews 11:1

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

                                             2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Encouraging Bible Verses on Faith and Strength

Our faith is a firm place to stand when we are scared.

It’s so easy to be discouraged and feel defeated when things don’t go our way. We become scared of what tomorrow will bring and wonder if it will ever get better.

But our faith in Jesus is our security and firm place to stand. When our faith is shaken, and life tries to tear us down, Jesus gives us strength and bravery.

So, stand fast in the faith and be strengthened by the One who died to set us free. Run to Him and find safety and unshakable ground.

The good news is, God’s Word is full of Bible Verses on Faith for times like this. And the best way to conquer fear is to turn to these scriptures for strength.

Best Bible Verses for Faith in Hard Times

There is no doubt that hardships will come in life, but with Jesus we have victory!

Hard times seem to sneak up and hit us out of nowhere. When we least expect them, they show up like an uninvited party guest who just won’t leave.

But the Bible tells us that we should expect hardships in this life and that we should find joy in them.

I know what you’re thinking because I’m thinking it too. How can we possibly find joy in suffering?

Well, it all goes back to Jesus. He suffered for us, and He promised that we would suffer for His namesake.

But we shouldn’t let it get us down. Because even though we are participants in the suffering of Christ, we are also participants in His victory too!

With Jesus, our current circumstances fade away in the light of eternity. We are victorious over this world and the hardships we face! And it’s all because of Jesus and His glory!

So, let’s look for God’s goodness and celebrate the victory we have in Jesus by reading these Bible verses for hard times.

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

                                                   James 1:2-4

Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

                                                  1 Peter 4:12-13

We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed-

                                                   2 Corinthians 4:8-9

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.

                                               1 Peter 1:6-9

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

                                               1 Corinthians 15:57

Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,  I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

                                             Philippians 3:13-14 ESV

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,

                                            Hebrews 12:1 NIV

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

                                            Hebrews 12:2 NKJV

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

                                           2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NKJV

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

                                            Matthew 6:26-27 NIV

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.

                                            Romans 8:18-19 NKJV
