Victory In Jesus 1 Corinthains 15:57

Do you ever think… How can I have victory in Jesus?

It’s that one simple word, victory, that makes all the difference when you’re facing an uphill battle.

What do you think of when you hear the word, Victory?

Maybe you think of gladiators entering the arena with one goal in mind… total victory. They fight hard, overcome obstacles, and if they are victorious, win their freedom.

Or maybe you think of a Civil War soldier marching through a field, his rifle raised as he faces a brutal battle. His future is uncertain, and he doesn’t know if he’ll ever see home again, but he’s fighting for the glory of the cause he believes in.

In our lives, it’s in the name of Jesus we have victory over the battle in front of us each day.

This victory in Jesus scripture from 1 Corinthians 15:57 paints the picture of a battle already fought and won…

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

                                                 1 Corinthians 15:57 NKJV

Jesus our Victory

Just like a Roman gladiator or a Civil war soldier, Jesus had an uphill battle to climb. Except in His case, the fate of the world was on His shoulders.

I can only imagine how Jesus must have felt as the Romans led Him up to Golgotha. He was facing the pain and agony of the cross, but He was also promised victory over death.

He had prayed for this cup to be taken from Him, but He chose to die a sinner’s death in our place anyway.

On the cross, death and sin were conquered. And just as God the Father had promised, when Jesus rose again, He had the victory! And through His resurrection, we can have victory too!

Claiming Victory in Jesus

Jesus doesn’t keep His victory all for Himself. He gives it to those of us who believe in Him.

As Christians, we are active participants in the victory of Jesus! All we have to do is claim that victory as our own.

I’m sure you’re familiar with the great hymn Victory in Jesus. The lyrics say…

O victory in Jesus,
My Savior, forever.
He sought me and bought me
With His redeeming blood

But Victory in Jesus is more than a song we sing in church. It’s a way of life for every Christian. We have been bought with and redeemed by the blood of Jesus.

So, let’s look at some more Bible verses about victory in Jesus and see how to claim His victory for yourself each day.

Have Faith and you’ll be victorious in Christ

And this is the victory that has overcome the world- our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

                                                                      1 John 5:4-5

To be victorious in Jesus, we must accept Him as our Savior. When we do, we no longer live our life for or take comfort in the things of this world. If we believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died for our sins, then our faith in Him has already given us the victory we are looking for.

If you have not put your faith in Jesus, now is the time. Do it right now and claim the victory in Jesus name for yourself!

Believe that God is on your side and you’ll have victory

for the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

                                               Deuteronomy 20:4

In this life we will always have hardships. If you are not currently in a crisis, then you soon will be. It may be financial, emotional, physical, or spiritual, but you can bet your bottom dollar you will wake up tomorrow facing some kind of conflict.

But no matter what this world throws at you, God will be there with you, fighting the battle for you. He is on your side, and He will see you through it.

He has already won the battle and given the victory to you!

Prepare for Victory and you’ll win the battle

The horse is prepared for the day of battle,

But the victory belongs to the Lord.

                                             Proverbs 21:31

A soldier gets ready for the battle. He puts on his armor, readies his weapon, and prepares his horse to ride out onto the field.

Just like the soldier, we should also prepare ourselves for the battle ahead. Although, our weapons are a little different, they are just as effective in waging war. Praying, reading the Word, and seeking God’s will, these are the weapons we use as Christians in our spiritual battle.

But no matter how many preparations we make or how confidant we are in our abilities, we must always remember that true victory belongs to Jesus. And we can only achieve victory by placing our trust in the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

A victorious Christian life is not a perfect life. We make mistakes, and we have pain and hurt sometimes. But we keep moving ahead, fighting the good fight. Because we know that we have already won the battle. And we have victory in Jesus!

No matter what battle you’re facing…Keep fighting. Don’t give up. You are victorious!
