It’s the time of year we set aside to celebrate the most precious woman in our lives… our Mother. She’s the one who brought us into this world and made us the person we are today.

My mother was a strong independent career woman. The very definition of a modern-day Proverbs 31 woman.

But she was more than that to me. She was my best friend and confidant. The person I could always turn to no matter what. She listened patiently to all of my problems, secrets, and dreams.

She held me close when I hurt and gave me the nickname “Precious”. Because that’s what I was to her, and she was never afraid to let me know it.

She was also a lot of fun and had a way of turning everyday things into a game. She was an amazing lady who loved her children and put us above herself.

But my mom’s greatest gift to me and my brother was her love for the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a gifted Bible teacher, sharing her knowledge in Sunday school classes, Wednesday night Precept meetings, family gatherings, and most importantly in our own home.

What a blessing it was to grow up in a house where I was taught God’s Word every single day!

This is where we begin our look at Precious Bible Verses for Mother’s Day! There’s something here for everyone. So, let’s dive in an learn what the Bible says about a good mother.

Beautiful Bible Verses about A Mother’s Teaching

when you awake, they will speak to you.

Bible Verses on Honoring Your Mother and Father

As you’ll read in just a few seconds, honoring your parents is the very first of the Ten Commandments with a promise.

Respect your mother and father and in return, God will give you a long and successful life.

This promise builds strong, godly families and shows the faith of all who live in your household.

No One represented this commandment better than Jesus Himself. As He faced the cross, He remembered His precious mother and made sure she would be cared for in His absence.

So, let’s honor the sacrifice of our Savior Christ Jesus and our mother by reading these Bible verses on honoring your mother and father.

Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

                                Deuteronomy 5:16

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”

                                Ephesians 6:1-3

Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

                                John 19:26-27

Listen, my son, and be wise, and set your heart on the right path:

                                Proverbs 23:19 NIV
