What’s a good Bible Verse for Valentine’s Day?
True Love Meaning
Valentine’s Day will be here soon. And the promise of love it brings with it is undeniable.
Pictures of red roses, heart-shaped boxes of candy, and candle lit dinners dance in our heads as we dream of spending this special day with our special someone.
But instead of our heads, it’s really our hearts that long to feel love this February 14th. We want it to reach down deep inside, touch our hearts and make us feel special.
This kind of love is a wonderful thing to have. And one we should celebrate when we find it.
But for Christians, Valentine’s Day is even bigger than a once-a-year romance.
Because we know the true meaning of love.
A love that is everlasting when nothing else is. A love that will never leave us even if we have a bad hair day. And a love that sacrificed everything just to spend eternity with us.
This kind of love is the reason God the Father, sent Jesus the Son to die on a cross in our place. And it’s the reason Jesus willingly gave up His throne and died a sinner’s death.
Without their love, we wouldn’t have the hope of salvation. But because of it, we can have confidence in our faith and know our future in heaven is secure.
This is the unfailing love that lasts through the ages. The one we’ve been searching our whole lives for. When everything else fades away, it will still endure.

And today we’re going to read these Touching Bible Verses for Valentine’s Day in honor of our One True Love!
No matter what your relationship status is, there’s a little something for everyone here in God’s love note to you.
So, I hope you find the love you’re searching for in these Valentine’s Day Bible Verses.
Let’s start with this simple question…
What is Love?
This is the age-old question people ponder this time of year.
For most, it’s a quest that is never fulfilled. But for Christians, love is a gift of perfect unity in Christ Jesus.
Through our faith and knowledge of Him, we have an intimate relationship with the One True God.
Faith is where love begins. Not that it starts with us, because as we’ll learn in a minute, it doesn’t. But it’s the love we receive from Jesus that extends outward to everyone around us.
All because we believe.
Here are some of the most popular Bible verses that tell us what love is.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:13
And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23 NIV
