What is the meaning of Luke 2:11?

For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

                                                                                Luke 2:11 NKJV

Of all the Christmas Bible Verses, this one is my favorite.

As the angels announced the birth of Jesus, they proclaimed the three titles given to Him, Savior, Christ (Messiah), and Lord (Yahweh or God). In accordance with the Father’s plan, Jesus was both God and man. Born to live the perfect life we never could and die to save us from our sins.

So, as we gather around the Christmas tree this year, let’s remember this scripture and praise the Lord, the Son has come!

I pray the meaning of this Christmas Bible verse fills you with the good tidings of great joy the angel brought to us this holiday season!

Merry Christmas!
