A Love Poem – 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

A Love Poem 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Today for our weekly dose of Monday Motivation, I would like to share with you a poem my mother wrote many years ago. It’s a take on 1 Corinthians 13. This passage of scripture is something we are all familiar with. It is often read at weddings and so when we hear it our thoughts naturally turn to a romantic kind of love.

But this poem refers to the love that Jesus has for each one of us. His love is a perfect love, full of hope and forgiveness. And He freely gives this love to those of us who love Him and are called by His name.

Valentine’s Day is almost here. Some of us are looking forward to spending time with the love of our life and some of us are still looking for that special someone. No matter which camp you fall into, I pray that you will know the love of Jesus and join me in celebrating a life lived for and with Him.

God bless you and your love this Valentine’s Day!

Love is patient
But is not slow
Love is kind
Much more than we know
Love is not jealous
But is God’s plan
Love is not boastful
And on it we stand
Love is not rude
But covers our sin
Love isn’t vengeful
It cleanses within
Love endures all
And Christ’s blood set us free
Love never fails
So free we will be.

Monday Motivation – Luke 2:11

This Christmas Bible Verse is one of my favorites. As the angels announced the birth of Jesus, they proclaimed the three titles given to Him, Savior, Christ (Messiah), and Lord (Yahweh or God). I accordance with the Father’s plan, Jesus was both God and man. Born to live the perfect life we never could and die to save us from our sins. Praise the Lord, the Son has come!

Monday Motivation – Acts 5:31

This Bible verse for Christmas speaks to the simple truth of who Jesus is,  Prince and Savior. Exalted by the Father and seated at His right hand. Christmas is about the birth of our Savior, humbly born in a manger.  But as we celebrate the birth of Jesus, let’s also remember His death on the cross and the new life we have through His resurrection!

Monday Motivation – Micah 5:2

The Old Testament is full of scriptures that point directly to Jesus. This Bible Verse for Christmas is a statement of who Jesus is, the Promised Messiah, Chosen One, and Ruler of Israel.  He was there before time began and His coming was predestined thousands of years before His birth. Praise the Lord for that truth! Merry Christmas to all of you!

Monday Motivation – Psalm 32:10 – Bible Verses for Halloween

If you are looking for some great Bible verses for Halloween, you have come to the right place! This week’s Monday Motivation is all about comparing the acts of the wicked with those of someone who trusts in God. A perfect topic to discuss this time of year. Psalm 32:10 speaks to how the wicked will not have God’s help when they are in need and will feel sorrowful because of it. But the person who trusts in the Lord will have mercy when they find themselves in a similar situation.

When I read this verse, I ask myself, which category do I want to be in, the wicked or the one who trust in God?  For me, the answer is simple though not always easy to live up to. I want to have mercy and grace, so I chose to follow God and His will. I know, it’s easier said than done sometimes. 🙂 But you can never go wrong when you follow God and allow His will to prevail in your life!

The Psalms are full of different comparisons between the wicked and the godly. Each one is a testament to how God protects and provides for His children. I encourage you to look them up and discover new ways to live a godly life and experience God’s love and protection this Halloween and all year round.

Monday Motivation – Colossians 1:13

Looking for Bible verses for Halloween? This verse is a beautiful reminder of our forgiveness of sin and redemption through the blood of Jesus!

Not long ago, I was asked about the blood of Jesus and why Christians would talk about such a thing. It may seem strange, even macabre to people who are not believers to talk about blood. But it is the sacrifice of Jesus and His blood that gives us salvation. Through no other means but the blood of Jesus are we forgiven and redeemed! By His blood, we can enter into the kingdom of heaven.

I hope you have a safe and fun Halloween. And that you will take time out this holiday to remember the loving sacrifice of the One who died to set you free.

Monday Motivation – Proverbs 14:26

The book of Proverbs is often said to be an instruction manual for life. The central theme and the first bit of wisdom taught within its pages is to fear the Lord. That doesn’t mean to hide or tremble in fear, but rather to fully understand who God is. To be in awe of Him and His power. Once we understand the enormity of God, we are His children and He is our Father. Just like a father here on earth is obligated to love and protect his children, God promises us His love and protection. We have a safe home in Him and a place of refuge when life becomes too much. To fear the Lord is a wonderful thing because once you know Him you will never be the same!

Monday Motivation – James 1:2

We all face hard times, none of us is immune. But instead of seeing these hardships as something to be avoided, we can see them as an opportunity to draw closer to God. And we can rejoice in knowing that every trial gives us more endurance for the long race ahead. If you feel that your faith is being tested, Rejoice and Draw near to God. He will get you through it.

Monday Motivation – Philippians 4:7

In this Bible verse, Paul uses a military term to remind us of this truth… The peace of God is like a garrison of soldiers, protecting and surrounding our hearts and minds at all times. This peace keeps us safe from any enemy or outside force that would come against us. So, today let’s meditate on God’s peace, which surpasses understanding, and be strengthened by the knowledge that He is always our best defense.

Monday Motivation – Philippians 3:13-14

Now is the time to leave the past behind and move forward. And this Bible verse about pressing on gives us the goal to do just that. No matter what your reason for wanting to move on is, God is always for you and never against you. He will give you the strength to set aside any failure, hardship, or pain you have. Look to Him and press on!
