The Beauty of Autumn Leaves – Galatians 6:9

The Beauty of Autumn Leaves Galatians 6:9

Autumn is a time of change. The carefree days of Summer have passed and we look forward to a new season. Here in the Ozark Mountains, the temperature is falling and soon the Master’s paintbrush will turn the leaves from green to brilliant red, orange and yellow. The colors are so vibrant and there’s a sense of excitement for the change ahead. Since moving to Arkansas, Fall has become my favorite time of year. I revel in this brief moment of beauty that God gives to us.

But Autumn is also a time for new obligations. The beginning of school for the kids, Sunday school and Bible study classes, football practice, the coming Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and so much more. We keep the wheels turning by taking care of our families, volunteering at church and witnessing to those around us who are not saved. And as much as we love doing all of it, these new commitments can leave us feeling stressed out and just plain tired. Sometimes, it can feel a little bit overwhelming.

So, during this busy time of year, let’s seek a little inspiration from the words of Paul to the Galatians.

And let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
                                                                            Galatians 6:9

As women of faith, we endeavor to do what is right in God’s eyes. We want to do it all and be everything to everyone. But the challenge for us is, to do good and to not grow weary. When life becomes hectic and we start to feel like we’re being pulled in a lot of different directions, the truth of this verse is a source of encouragement for us. It has so much to say about how to get through these busy moments we all experience.

Let us not grow weary…

We all have times when we feel overwhelmed, discouraged, tired and downright unappreciated. In these moments, it’s easy to think that no one sees the good work that we do. But God does see the effort we put in and He doesn’t want us to give up and throw in the towel.

In due season we shall reap…

Sometimes it feels like that “due season” is just out of reach or will never come. But the seeds we sow today will determine what we reap in the future. God has a plan and He promises to reward us for all that we do in His name. His timing is different than our own and if we keep looking forward our season to reap that reward will come.

Do not lose heart…

We may feel like we’re drowning in a sea of endless things to do. And we may feel down and out, but all is not lost. God is on our side and ready to offer our heart the encouraging boost we need. But we have to be willing to take hold of that encouragement and use it in a way that will cause us to not lose heart.

Just as God creates the beauty of the autumn leaves, He also wants to create beauty in our lives. He knows that we’re only human and that we get tired and discouraged. When we’re down, He wants to encourage us to forge ahead and to not grow weary. And He promises us that when we do, we will reap the reward of a life well lived. So, during this time of great change in nature, I pray that we will revel in all the beauty God has put in our lives and in the beauty of Autumn leaves!

Weariness is part of the curse, but I’m hiding in Christ with God (Col. 3:3) and learning to let Him to His thing through me.

7 Simple Ways to See God’s Hand in Your Life

devotional 7 Simple Ways to See God's Hand in Your Life

There’s an anonymous quote I love. It says… Those who leave everything in God’s hand will eventually see God’s hand in everything.” That’s such a beautiful sentiment and one I can completely get behind.

Because the truth is, the more we look for God in our lives, the more we see Him. He is always at work behind the scenes, molding and shaping us into the people He wants us to become. And He is always protecting and loving us no matter what challenges we face.

Take a moment to imagine what it would be like to see God’s hand in your life.

What does His hand look like in your mind’s eye? Would it change your everyday life if you could see His hand clearer?

We’re all searching for God’s hand. Because at our core we know He is the answer to the problems we face every day. And we know if we could just figure out how to see His hand, our lives would turn around and be changed forever.

You’ve probably heard someone say,” I saw God’s hand in my life!”. It’s a phrase that comes up often in Christian circles, in conversations with other believers, or in testimonies given at church.

But what exactly does it mean to see God’s hand in your life? Is this something you’re supposed to look for? Or is it already there?

So, in our quest to find God’s hand, I decided to write a devotional…

7 Simple Ways to See God’s Hand in Your Life is completely free to download and written to help YOU find God’s hand in YOUR life. In this Bible Study, we’ll explore and answer the burning question, how can I see God’s hand in my life today? As we work our way through this short (and free 😊) Bible Study, we’ll look at six simple ways to see God’s hand in our lives.

#1 Walk Hand in Hand with God

A new beginning starts on day 1! To see God’s hand, take hold of it and learn to walk hand in hand with Him.

#2 Inscribed on His Hand

Day 2 is all about God’s deep and unwavering affection for us. This lesson will reveal the true nature of our relationship with Him.

#3 Protected Under a Mighty Hand

As we discussed before, the struggles we face are real. And the burdens and worry of life are never far away. But on day 3 we’ll discover the answer to life’s troubles and the perfect place to be when they hit us hard.

#4 A Generous Hand

God’s generosity is immeasurable! And His hand goes above and beyond to provide all we need. This is the truth we’ll explore on day 4.

#5 The Strength of God’s Hand

We all have times when we feel weak. But at our lowest, we have the strength of God’s hand to rely on. Day 5 offers us hope for our weakest moments.

#6 Secure in His Hand

It’s human nature to seek safety. On day 6 we’ll talk about where real security comes. I’ll give you one guess… That’s right, it’s God’s hand!

#7 is a Life Changer!

You won’t want to miss this special lesson on day #7. It will change everything you thought you knew about your relationship with Jesus!

I hope you’ll resist the temptation to jump ahead because each of the six lessons leads up to this life-changing truth!

Yah! Jazz hands! High fives! And a big thumbs up! 😊

Seeing God’s hand in everything is a hallmark of Christian life. His hand tells us the story of who He is and how He reaches out to us in our struggles. It’s an image of the divine interaction between God and His people. And it’s God’s characteristics, His very nature, that are on display when we feel His healing touch. And just like the anonymous quote above tells us… The more we leave our problems in God’s hand, the more we’ll see Him working in our lives!

So, if you’re ready, let’s get started on 7 Simple Ways to See God’s Hand in Your Life…

Calming Bible Verses about Peace

Calming Bible Verses about Peace

This post may contain affiliate links. See my full disclosure here.

Do you struggle with worry, fear, or doubt? Do you feel like your life is one catastrophe after another? Do you think peace is something that’s only talked about in church or those feel-good movies on TV?

Yeah… I feel ya!

In our society, peace is a fleeting feeling, here one minute and gone the next. The world tells us we just need a mini vacay, a shopping spree, or a pedicure and then we’ll have the peace we’re after. Believe me, I love a girl’s day out as much as anyone, but these things will only distract us for a short time. Eventually life catches up with us and we’re right back where we started, stressed out and knee deep in chaos.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. A solution to all of the negativity is out there, and it can be yours if you want it.

God gives us peace, real peace. It’s different from the peace the world offers, and it doesn’t cost a dime!

Fear and worry threaten to tear us apart from the inside out. But they don’t stand a chance against God’s peace! It calms the chaos life throws our way. And it slays the beast of worry, fear and doubt.

If we want to find God’s peace all we need to do is turn to the scriptures. So, I decided to put together some Calming Bible Verses about Peace. Once you read them, you’ll understand how God’s peace is the opposite of the world’s. You’ll begin to see His peace take shape in your life. And soon, the struggle of worry, fear, and doubt will fade away as you discover real and lasting peace is only a prayer away.

Let’s dive in, shall we?…

The Peace of Jesus

Jesus is called the Prince of Peace for a reason. He is our Savior, our Redeemer, and Peace itself! When life is anything but peaceful and chaos is the reigning force in our lives… He says “Peace, be still”, and calms the raging storm. This is the peace that only comes from knowing Jesus and you can find it in these verses.

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

                                     Isaiah 9:6

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

                                   John 14:27

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

                                John 16:33

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

                                 Philippians 4:6-7

And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.

                                   Colossians 3:15

Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

                                   Mark 4:39

Peace is a Blessing from God

Living a Christian life is full of blessings…Salvation, forgiveness, love, and yes…peace! These next scriptures speak to the peace we find when we put our trust in the Lord.

You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.

                                   Isaiah 26:3

The Lord will give strength to His people;
The Lord will bless His people with peace.

                                   Psalm 29:11

Great peace have those who love Your law,
And nothing causes them to stumble.

                                  Psalm 119:165

Live in Peace

God blesses us peace, and He asks us to live in peace with others. I know it can seem like we have no control over a peaceful existence with our neighbors, but there are times when we have a choice between stirring up conflict or working towards harmony. In those moments God says to offer an olive branch instead of a curt reply and choose peace over adversity.

If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.

                                  Romans 12:18

Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:

                                 Hebrews 12:14

Let him turn away from evil and do good;
Let him seek peace and pursue it.

                                 1 Peter 3:11

Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil,
But counselors of peace have joy.

                                  Proverbs 12:20

Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.

                                 Romans 14:19

Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

                                 James 3:18

Depart from evil and do good;
Seek peace and pursue it.

                                Psalm 34:14

God’s peace comes from knowing Him and seeing His hand move in your life. I truly hope these Calming Bible Verses about Peace have touched your heart and renewed your spirit. Before we go, I’d like to share one last verse. This is my prayer for you today…

Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all.
