Easter Bible Verses that will inspire you everyday

If you have come here looking for inspirational Easter Bible verses, you’re in the right place! I pray that these Easter verses will give you encouragement and inspiration as we prepare for this momentous holiday season.

Easter is THE Christian holiday. It represents the most important and fundamental belief of our Christian faith, the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Without the resurrection, Christianity would be pointless. But because of it, we have the hope of a future here on earth and a new life in heaven with Him to come.

It is no small wonder that we are the only world religion that worships a living god. Jesus is alive! He has risen from the grave! Easter is the time we set aside to remember the sacrifice of our loving Savior. And God’s Word is full of inspiration about this important holiday. So let’s celebrate Him today with these Easter Bible Verses!

Classic Easter Scriptures…

These Easter Bible verses are perfect for writing in Easter cards, Sunday School lessons, or reading aloud at your Easter Sunday dinner or annual Easter egg hunt.

He is risen! He is not here.

                             Mark 16:6 NKJV

 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.

                           John 11:25 NKJV

Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen. And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty.

                            1 Corinthians 15:12-14 NKJV

He is not here; but has risen! Remember how He spoke to you, when He was still in Galilee, saying, The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.

                                  Luke 24:6-7 NKJV

And when they had come to a place called Golgotha, that is to say Place of the Skull, they gave Him sour wine mingled with gall to drink. But when He had tasted it, He would not drink.

Then they crucified Him, and divided His garments, casting lots, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet:

They divided My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.

In His Own Words: Jesus spoke about His impending death and resurrection…

There is nothing better than the words of Jesus! You just can’t improve on them. Jesus knew what was going to happen to Him, yet He still chose the cross. And to “hear” His words flow through our lives as we read them is an amazing experience.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

                                         John 11:25 NKJV

For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

                                          Matthew 12:40 NKJV

The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men, and they will kill Him, and on the third day He will be raised up.

                                          Matthew 17:22 NKJV

All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written:

I will strike the Shepherd,

And the sheep of the flock will be scattered.

But after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee.

                                        Matthew 26:31-32 NKJV

Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priest and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and deliver Him to the Gentiles; and they will mock Him, and scourge Him, and spit on Him, and kill Him. And on the third day He will rise again.

                                           Mark 10:33-34 NKJV

Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.

                                          John 10:17-18 NKJV

From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.

                                         Matthew 16:21 NIV

When Jesus heard this, he told them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”

                                         Mark 2:17 NLT

Old Testament Prophecies of Jesus’ death and resurrection…

These scriptures plainly show how much forethought went into the coming of the Messiah and His sacrifice on the cross. Before time began God was making a way for us to be with Him. He had a plan, a plan to redeem us through His Son.

For me, these Easter verses kick-start my faith when I need it the most. When I read them, fear and doubt disappear and all that is left is the peace that surpasses all understanding. (Philippians 4:7)

 For You will not leave my soul in Sheol,

Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.

                                            Psalm 16:10 NKJV

For dogs have surrounded Me;

The congregation of the wicked has

enclosed Me.
They pierced My hands and My feet;

I can count all My bones.

They look and stare at Me.

They divide My garments among them,

And for My clothing they cast lots.

                                           Psalm 22:16-18 NKJV

And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; and they will look on Me whom they have pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.

                                        Zechariah 12:10 NKJV

For I know that My Redeemer lives,

And He shall stand at last on the earth;

                                     Job 19:25 NKJV

He will swallow up death forever,

And the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces;

The rebuke of His people

He will take away from all the earth;

For the Lord has spoken.

                                      Isaiah 25:8  NKJV

He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

                                    Isaiah 53:3 ESV

But He was wounded for our transgressions,

He was bruised for our iniquities;

The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,

And by His stripes we are healed.

All we like sheep have gone astray;

We have turned, every one, to his own way;

And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

                                      Isaiah 53:5-6 NKJV

Your dead shall live; their bodies shall rise. You who dwell in the dust, awake and sing for joy! For your dew is a dew of light, and the earth will give birth to the dead.

                                     Isaiah 26:19 ESV

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

                                    Zechariah 9:9 ESV
